Welcome to the new and improved Tea & Tech with Jennifer! You might have been expecting Brand More, Fear Less—and that’s exactly what I’m here to talk about today. In this post, I’ll walk you through the reasons behind the rebrand, how my journey has evolved over the past few years, and what you can expect moving forward.

Why I Rebranded

When I first started this podcast, I was running my own business full-time, focusing on branding and website design. It was fulfilling, but it came with challenges. Finding clients felt like riding a rollercoaster—some months I was fully booked, and others were painfully quiet. Even with amazing clients, I eventually hit burnout.

Running a business in its early years can be intense. Although I had the support of my partner, who carries our benefits, there was still a lot of pressure. Then, an unexpected opportunity arose: my grandfather, who started a tech consulting company the year I was born, invited me to join the family business.

This meant making some big changes. My family and I moved an hour away to be closer to the office. Not long after, we welcomed a new member to our family. Between learning the ropes at the family business, adjusting to motherhood with two kids, and settling into a new house, the past two years have been a whirlwind.

Rediscovering My Passion

About six months ago, I realized I missed parts of running my own business. I love working in tech consulting, but there are things I want to explore that don’t quite fit within the scope of the family business. That’s when I decided to relaunch my business as a side hustle and focus on my passion: helping women solopreneurs overcome tech intimidation and use technology to their advantage.

In my previous work, I noticed that many women were overwhelmed and intimidated by tech, even though they had all the skills they needed to succeed. This was something that really stuck with me. I never heard men say, “I’m just not good with technology,” but I heard it from women all the time. My mission is to help these women realize they do have the skills and show them how to leverage technology to take their businesses further.

What to Expect from the Podcast

I’ve rebranded the podcast to Tea & Tech with Jennifer to better reflect the focus I want moving forward. You can expect shorter, bite-sized episodes with actionable steps. Each episode will simplify tech topics and show you how to use tools like AI and ChatGPT without feeling overwhelmed. We’ll talk about everything from social media strategy to automating routine tasks so you can focus on what really matters in your business.

I’ll also share personal stories, lessons from my own experiences, and maybe even a few interviews with inspiring guests. My goal is to make tech feel approachable, empowering, and aligned with your goals.

Why ChatGPT Will Be a Key Focus

One tool that’s made a huge impact in my own life is ChatGPT. Between balancing a full-time job, a side hustle, and two kids, AI has been a lifesaver. It’s helped me accomplish more in a week than I used to in a month. Friends often ask how I manage everything, and the answer is AI. I’ll be diving deep into practical ways you can use tools like ChatGPT to boost productivity in your own business.

Hello, and welcome back to my podcast, Tea & Tech with Jennifer. You may be expecting Brand More, Fear Less, which we’ll be talking about in this episode. I’m shifting the podcast a bit, and today’s episode is all about why I’m relaunching it and what you can expect in the future. I’m sipping on Earl Grey tea—now’s the time to grab your own cup, and let’s dive in!

Let’s start with a big question: why did I rebrand? When I first started this podcast, I was working full-time in my own business, focusing on branding and websites. It was great—until it wasn’t. I was grinding day in and day out trying to find clients. They often came in clumps. I’d book out months at a time, make great money, then experience a quiet spell. And while I was trying everything—marketing, networking—I eventually burned out.

As many of you know, running a business is tough, especially in those first few years. I’m lucky that my partner has a stable job with benefits, which gave me a safety net, but there was still a lot of pressure. Then, an amazing opportunity came my way. My grandfather started a tech company the year I was born, and I was invited to join the family business. It’s a technology consulting company, and unlike my business, it’s not remote. So, my family and I packed up, moved an hour away—which felt further than it sounds—and started fresh. Shortly after, we welcomed a new member to our family, and life has been a whirlwind ever since.

Over the past two years, I’ve been adjusting to my new role, making my mark in the family business, getting used to life with two kids, and settling into a new house. Six months ago, I realized how much I missed parts of running my own business. So, I decided to relaunch it as a side hustle.

One thing I really wanted was a passion project—something to work on that I couldn’t explore in the family business. While the family business is wonderful, I needed space to channel my creativity and expertise from my past business. I’m especially passionate about helping women solopreneurs because I’ve noticed how often technology overwhelms them. Many of my past clients—and even people I meet now—feel intimidated by tech, and I know they don’t need to be.

It’s shocking how often women tell me, “I’m just not good with technology,” but I’ve never once heard a man say that. The truth is, these women already have the skills—they’re using them every day without realizing it. I want to help women overcome this intimidation and leverage technology, just like men do, without hesitation.

In this podcast, I’ll keep the episodes short and actionable. We’ll focus on simplifying tech so it feels manageable, not overwhelming. Many tools can be used at a basic level to get started, and you can always build on that knowledge over time. We’ll also dive into tools like ChatGPT. AI has made a huge impact on my life—personally and professionally. I have two kids, a full-time job, and a side hustle, but I get more done in a week now than I used to in a month, thanks to AI.

When friends ask how I manage everything, the answer is AI. My goal is to show you how you can use AI to get more done in your business. If I can help you do that, then I’ve achieved what I set out to do.

I’ll share relatable stories based on my experiences and those of my clients. I’m also hoping to bring in guests for interviews and deeper conversations. These bonus episodes will offer something a little different from the regular bite-sized episodes, which will typically be 10 to 15 minutes long.

Above all, my goal is to help you feel less overwhelmed and more empowered with tech. I believe we need more female voices and users in the AI space. AI tools like ChatGPT are influenced by how people interact with them, and right now, those voices are largely male. The more women who engage with these tools, the more we can shape them to work for us.

To give you a quick teaser: I started using AI about a year ago during my third trimester of pregnancy. It was a tough time, and I was struggling to keep up with work. Everyone was talking about AI, so I decided to try it. At first, the results were disappointing. The outputs were generic, and I felt frustrated. I gave up for a while, especially when my baby arrived early.

After maternity leave, I came back to it with renewed determination. I started experimenting and learning how to use it effectively. Signing up for a pro account was a game-changer—it gave me access to advanced features and motivated me to make the most of my investment. I discovered that the better I crafted my inputs, the better the outputs sounded like me. It took trial and error, but by summer, I was producing content faster and more efficiently than ever.

Now, I use AI in both my day job and side hustle—and even in my personal life. It’s been a game-changer. As someone with a neurodivergent brain, AI has helped me level the playing field in areas where I’ve struggled. We’ll explore more about that in future episodes.

If you’ve been following my journey, you know it wasn’t smooth at the start. But what I create now is miles ahead of where I began. I can’t wait to share everything I’ve learned and the cool ways AI has helped me.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I’m excited about where this podcast is headed and can’t wait to share what’s coming next. Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out on future episodes, where we’ll dive into practical tech solutions. I’ll also be announcing a free email mini-course I’m working on, which I think you’ll love.

Next time, we’ll talk about why so many women solopreneurs feel stuck—and how AI can help without adding to the overwhelm. Until then, thanks for listening!
